PATRICK TICE-CARROLL

Music director, orchestrator, and music copyist based in Los Angeles, CA, New York, NY, and Philadelphia, PA. A graduate of Temple University (MFA in Musical Theater Collaboration, 2021; MA in Musical Theater Studies, 2020; BS in Music, 2019), Patrick currently works as an orchestrator and music copyist for film and TV at JoAnn Kane Music Service, with offices in both Los Angeles and New York City. He also continues work throughout the Philadelphia and New York areas on musicals and other theatrical productions in a myriad of roles: music director, conductor, pianist, keyboard programmer, and mix engineer.

In May 2021, Patrick graduated with his MFA in the inaugural cohort of Temple University’s Musical Theater Collaboration program. Through this training, Patrick has specialized in working on the creative team in the development of new works of musical theater. Combining a rigorous musical and thorough dramaturgical approach, he is able to bring a sound voice to the rehearsal room. In this program, Patrick served as music director and orchestrator in the development of Chance the Snapper alongside director Rose Freeman and composer-lyricist Spicer W. Carr.

Recent projects:

Joe Ciccimaro Celebration

In December, Patrick was contacted to lend a hand in a surprise concert in honor of Joe Ciccimaro, a Philadelphia music educator, local theater legend, and also, Patrick’s high school band director. Hosted by Frank DiLella and featuring Broadway actor Hugh Panaro, Patrick led the orchestra in a program of musical theater selections, including some original orchestrations from Patrick, that all have a deep connection to Joe’s legacy.

The performance, in January 2024, was covered on Good Morning America and Inside Edition. Check it out!

With a score by legendary jazz bassist Marcus Miller, Patrick was thrilled to have contributed additional music and orchestrations to this new Christmas film, through his work with Mark Graham at JoAnn Kane Music Service!

Patrick’s MFA thesis was a fully-realized virtual production of a new musical entitled Chance the Snapper (concept/book by Rose Freeman, book/music/lyrics by Spicer W. Carr). Produced in Temple Theaters’ 2020/2021, this production has served as a departmental flagship for Temple University, exemplifying best practices for the process and presentation of musicals while following stringent safety guidelines due to COVID-19. Patrick’s work on this show extends throughout all phases of production as music director, orchestrator, music engraver, keyboard programmer, tracking and mix engineer, music editor, video editor, and tubist.

Check out this video of the Bows/Exit Music for Chance the Snapper, arranged, orchestrated, conducted, recorded, mixed and edited by Patrick Tice-Carroll.

Remote Services

Transposition and Transcription

Have your music transposed into any key and include cuts and tempo indications that might be left out of the original score to result in music that is laid out cleanly for consistent playability.

Is the music not available? Have sheet music created for any ensemble size, from piano-vocal to full band, including vocal arrangements.

Arranging and Orchestration

New arrangements and orchestrations bring depth to compositions, elevating the dramatic and emotional weight of the song. Have new life breathed into your writing, whether it be the soaring strings of the Golden Age or the programming-heavy chamber writing of musicals today.

Accompaniment Tracks

With the current times redefining what live performance means, it is now even more imperative to have access to high-quality, custom accompaniment tracks, ranging from just piano all the way to full-orchestral MIDI mockups.
